Exsurge Domine — the psalmist's cry when heaven feels quiet and the enemy doesn't. On this panel, a lone warrior raises his sword into a breaking storm — and the light answers, cutting straight through the clouds to meet the blade.

The centerpiece of the Vocatio trilogy, and the one that anchors the wall when the three hang together. Sculpted relief print gives the sword, the light, and other features physical height off the metal; under a lamp or morning sun, the raised ink throws real shadows and the whole panel changes with the light.
